Developmental Disability Services
Respite care is available to provide short term relief from caring for a family member with special needs for qualified families. FOCUS respite provides:
- Experienced/ trained providers
- Provided in families' homes
- Promote inclusion into the community.
Support is provided to individuals with Core or Individual Service Dollars to develop and implement habilitation plans.
Waivers provide services through Medicaid funding to allow individuals to live at home and participate in their own communities. FOCUS serves consumers of all ages who receive services through the following three different types of waivers:
- Children with Complex Medical Conditions (CCMC)
- Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities (MR/DD)
- Adults with Physical Disabilities (APD)
Waivers allow consumers to access many necessary supports including:
- In-home support: assists individuals to improve independence skills at home, or supports the family in the home.
- Day habilitation: assists individuals to improve their skills in independent self-help and socialization outside of the home.
- Chore service: housekeeping required to maintain health and safety.
- Hourly and daily respite: short-term assistance for caretakers.
- Care coordination: assists individuals to gain access to services.
- Nursing intensive active treatment: monitoring and assessment of needs for children with acute medical conditions.
