Focus: Art is an Anchorage based program of Focus, Inc, that offers structured art classes and open studio time for adults who experience disabilities (ages 18+).
Focus: Art offers something new and different from existing local art opportunities for people who experience disabilities. What sets our program apart is our vision of inclusion and integration, where program participants have the opportunity to work alongside experienced artists and interested community members in an atmosphere of acceptance and shared learning.
Participants are exposed to a variety of traditional visual art mediums such as painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, and fiber arts as well as other means of artistic expression through music, poetry, and dance.
Classes are held Monday through Thursday at our midtown studio and gallery space.
Morning sessions are from 9:00 – 12:00 on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and afternoon sessions are from 1:00 – 4:00 Monday – Thursday.
