A new addition to the Positive Behavior Support team, Chris brings both his background in teaching and education along with his last ten years of behavior consultation. Starting as a teacher in the 90s, he worked to include children experiencing behavior disorders in his general education classroom. After this and two years of teaching overseas in the Peace Corps, Chris settled into Alaska, starting a family and working at both Alaska Pacific University and UAA. While at UAA, he worked as the Positive Behavior Interventions and Support Coordinator where he helped mental health agencies and schools collaborate to better support students with problem behaviors in schools. While also serving as a Behavior Specialist, he started work to become a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). His passion is problem-solving with teams, particularly working with the family. If’s he’s not at work, he’s probably with his own family (wife and 3 teens). You can find them playing music and games, exercising, talking and reading.
