What Skills can be Taught Using PBS ?
Depending on the child’s age, Positive Behavior Support may teach your child how to identify and express emotions, focus on the development of language skills, improve social skills, play or leisure skills, motor skills, academic skills, and self help skills. These skills are critical for independent functioning, cognitive growth, and social development and are a key component in the PBS program. Social, play, and leisure skills are also important and enhance an child’s quality of life. Self-help skills build independence and academic skills help a learner access the general education school curriculum.
