Erika Hopper – Family Service Coordinator
My name is Erika Hopper. I completed my Bachelors of Art in Psychology in 2013 from UAA and am currently working on my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. I grew up in the military (Army) traveling the world. We moved roughly 20 times as my father was active duty and was deployed for both Desert Storm (Gulf War) and the Iraq War. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I chose Alaska as my home, where I also met my husband. I have been working in the field for about 6 years now, providing direct support with individuals who experienced cognitive/developmental disabilities between the ages of 3 to 60 years old, coordinating and running group programs, providing resources to families, volunteering at Providence Hospital in the NICU as part of the Cuddle Corp project, developing treatment and support plans, and supervising staff who provide direct support with individuals who experience cognitive/developmental disabilities. I enjoy hiking, camping, traveling, yoga, art, and video games.
